Tori's new trick

Tori is discovering that she can do so much! Such as standing up, crawling faster and faster, motorboating, hamming it up in many different ways, and her favorite and ours too....raspberries!!



She also has learned how to give kisses (even though it's completely open mouthed and slobbery) and is starting to get the hang of talking on the phone! (Oh Boy!)

Grandma Lu and I were able to be one of the first extended family members to visit with Carter Wilson Josephson just a week after he came into this world! He was super cute and even opened his eyes for us! We can't wait to get Tori and him together! Momma Jammie, Aunt Rebecca, and Grandma Wilson were very proud to share him with us! He is already sooo strong! Holding his head up and moving all around!

First Day at the Pool

We took Tori swimming for the first time on a lazy Friday afternoon. Needless to say she LOVED IT! When we took her out she didn't want to leave! She likes to put her face in the water even though she comes up coughing and especially likes it when you drag her in a circle in the water on her back. She is going to be a water bug next year I just know it! Too bad she grew out of her suit within a month...so we're just going to have to deal with it until next year!

Daddy made sure to keep both hands on the wiggle worm!

One of her favorite things to do was to let Mommy splash Tori's back in the water over and over. Tori giggled soooo much!



She enjoyed laying out and was working on her tan!

We had so much fun we hope the summer will never end so we can keep coming back, but after summer we get fall and that means leaves to jump in. Then after fall we have winter which means snow to play in so I guess there's more fun to come!

Buddy is starting to get more friendly with Torie so she can explore more now! Papa was there to mediate and to keep control though!

Been a long time...

Ok...so I guess I'm not the best blogger at all but here's the 7 month update with Torie! We went to the Dr. last week and she's 16 lbs. 12 o. and is growing each day! She has two teeth now on the bottom of her mouth (look closely in the following picture!!)

She has started using her sippy cup!

Torie just had her 2 month appointment yesterday! She's now 9 lbs 9 oz and about 23 inches long! She's recently found her voice and is talking all the time with plenty of smiles to share with everyone! I am going on a trip to Georgia this weekend for Mary Kay and it will be my first weekend away from Torie... :o( Although I'll miss her like crazy I know she'll be fine in daddy's care! Well, I decided this was the best way to keep everyone updated and happy. Thanks Kelly for inspiring me to do so. Currently, everyone is doing well...Torie is growing right in front of my eyes, Zach still loves Torie (that may change in a few years haha), Jim is one month away from being out of the Air Force, and I will be a Director with Mary Kay by the end of the month. I have my production in, but now I just need the people...I'm so close! So, if you're willing to get great makeup at 50% off and help me start my career I'd greatly appreciate it! Ask me about the details!

Torie will be 2 months old on February 12th. She is rolling over, holding up her head and talking back already! Her favorite things include her swing and any lamp or light for that matter. I keep joking that I'm going to get her a onesie that says "I love lamp!" Yes she's sleeping through the night normally from midnight-7am. Yes I know how lucky I am!

Jim and I have set a date for our wedding : May 16, 2009. I haven't even started planning, don't really know where to start so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I have also just started serving at our church (Hope Church) in the children's ministry, Harvestland. This summer we're building a new building for Harvestland and I will be a part of the design and technology team. It's quite a large project but will be a lot of fun with some great people! Mom is also dipping her toes in the volunteer pool with Harvestland and will most likely be working in the New Beginnings room with the babies. As you can tell, mom and I are getting more and more busy, but we enjoy it!

Jim's cousin manages a new bar here in Springfield, called The Plaza. I have just jumped in as one of the bartenders for fun. I'm proud to say I'm one of few female bartenders in Springfield and the ONLY female bartender at the bar. I worked my first night since I left Chicago, last night and it went very well! The bar has a lot of potential, so we'll see how it goes! I guess that concludes my first blog! Hope you enjoyed it and keep a look out for more updates from the Kates family!
